Remember when you were little and all you wanted to be was a pop star? Even though you had zero musical talent, and couldn't carry a tune in a bucket?
Secretly, there's still a small part of me that would love that. I'm picturing sequined dresses, flashing lights, and this guitar:
Honestly - I actually have saliva collecting in my mouth.
This has been the long running project of mixed media artist Meredith Dada - so far it's taken a year and a half - but time bloody well spent I say. I want it.
You can visit her etsy shop here - http://www.etsy.com/shop/meredithdada, and her blog is here: www.meredithdada.blogspot.com
Sigh. Maybe I could make baby Blythe learn guitar so I have an excuse to buy it?

Trends: Lovely Linen
I'm on a self imposed shopping ban right now.
I'm looking for a new house at the moment, and in preparation for the move, I'm trying to get as much sorted out now that I can. Yesterday, I attacked my wardrobe. How on EARTH do I have so many clothes? I think I'm going to make it a mission to wear something completely different every day for the next two months. I may even take pictures after I get my camera back.
Anyway, my latest love after finding things that I'd forgotten I had is linen. In the back of my closet I found a really cute cropped linen jacket which I seem to remember getting 4 years ago. There's something about the fabric which is just timelessly elegant.

Bargain - Photo Pendants
Ye all know I have a...thing... about photography right? The warm fuzzies I get looking through photography shops on etsy is on par with the excitement of browsing through 20s dresses, or fabulous vintage lingerie - pulse quickens, hands shake... sometimes I even drool a little.
Sadly, my budget stops me from buying an awful lot of what I love, although after I've dealt with this house business I plan on a major shopping spree. A HUGE one.
For right now though - and I have no idea how it took me so long to discover this - I've found that lots of my favourite photographers have collaborated with jewelery makers and had their prints turned into pendants.
So for much less monies, I can WEAR my favorite shots all day long. Yes, simple things make me happy.
I bought myself this from thecharmlady.etsy.com:

I bought myself this from thecharmlady.etsy.com:
Fireworks Fill The Sky - A Little Bubble Pendant $10
which features a photo from bomobob, and it happens to go beautifully with a pink silk top I have. My 3 year old said I looked 'hot'.
Others I have my sights set on:
Ferris Wheel Mini Photo Pendant $24 heartworksbylori featuring the photography of Elle Moss
I also ADORE this idea:
Polaroid Sterling Silver Necklace - Reach $14 by dillondesigns.etsy.com
Baby Blythe also wants in on the action - I've promised to buy her this:
Scrabble Tile Art Pendant ROUND WE GO by bomobob $6.95 ItsAllAboutThePrint.etsy.com
What can I say? She has good taste.

The Urban Goddess is coming...
As most of you know, I've been exploring my creative side the last wee while - some of my experiments haven't gone so well - but I was at work the other week, and my boss said to me -
'Siobhan - you should accessorize more'
Now, I work in a very style conscious environment, so I wasn't offended at all - it actually made me realise that I've gotten completely out of the habit, mainly due to tiny little fingers wanting to play (read: destroy) Mummy's pretties.

And also, as most of you know, we're really rather poor right now with DH being off work with his back.
So I started making things, and they've turned out really well- so well that soon Blythe Hopes Vintage will be adding an UrbanGoddess range, accessories that are made from vintage components with modern twists - a perfect way to enhance your vintage wardrobe!

Oh Edward...
I've become rather obessed with Twilight lately (Thanks Holly) and so it stands to reason that I'd name the new love of my life after Edward Cullen....
He's a vintage Singer model 348, which I found at my favourit thrift for all of $15 :)
What's great is now not only can I make my Zombie Dolls a lot faster - but I can also make all the pretty clothes I want!
It's well exciting ♥
I'm working on a blouse to go with the blue and cream kirt right now, and pulling a pattern off a bed jacket. I'm not happy with the neck line on the first dress either - I may pull it down into a v - I'm not sure that high neck really suits someone as flat chested as myself lol.

Idle hands breed...

ZOMBIE DOLLS!!!!!!!

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

ahem. As most of you know, I've been without a camera the last week or so - and I'm really NOT one to do nothing, so I created an army of Zombie Dollies. As you do.
With the help of my trusty Edward (the Sewing Machine) and my dear dear trade friendly etsy friends, the Zombie dolls are now up in my Etsy Shop!
Please let me know what you think - non Zombie Dolls will be added shortly, and - if you're good - perhaps even some handmade clothes (and more vintage of course!)

Yep - am taking over the esty world!
I was contacted by Renegades a few weeks ago to do some some product shots for her - and I am so pleased with how they turned out!

Check out her shop - these flowers are seriously cool :)

My new project
Everyone knows I have a slight obsession with vintage bar ware right? My problem is I also have the munchkin who thinks playing with mummy's 80 year old bar stuff is the funest thing ever.
I hate to leave it sitting in a high cupboard -so I came up with a very nifty solution.
Now it's not done yet - I need to seal it and mount the lights and put it on the wall - but I took this horrid plasticy looking cupboard:

And made it into the thing of beauty you see before you.

I adore it - and I'm also thinking of making a line to sell in my art shop - comments and thoughts would be greatly appreciated, and I'll obviously post a finished pic ♥
