Fabulous Finds: Flapper Wedding

Things totally got away from me yesterday, and I never got around to posting my Friday Finds, but better late than never.

One of my favorite things about summer are all the weddings. I think I missed my calling in life, I should have been a wedding planner - I love them :) When I got married money was really tight, but if I could do it all over again with a billion dollars, I'd probably go with something like this:

Friday Finds: Airstream Living

I love Airstreams. Ideally I'd own like 5 of them and have them be all different rooms in a disconnected house. Of course that wouldn't work up here in the frozen north, but maybe down south somewhere.

I've seen some seriously cool stuff done with the insides of them too - Magnolia Pearl - who I love btw - did hers up beautifully:

You can see the full sized pics on her blog, which is also amazing, here:  http://magnoliapearlblog.blogspot.com/

I especially love the claw foot bath. In an Airstream. That's what I'm talking about my friends.

Personally, I think I'd cover the ceiling in vintage maps - like these from VintagePaperWorks:

 Antique 1887 Map of Burma/Siam $10

And put up lots of lace curtains - I particularly like these from FadedGrandeur:
Pair of Vintage French Filet Lace Curtains $49.90

Since I'm not one for ott girly really, I'd probably offset the lace with more industrial fixtures, I love this lamp from TheDirtyLoft:

  Industrial Metal Hanging Lamp $60

I know storage would be an issue in such a small space - but check this out from BellaroseSignature:

Vintage Greek Key Brass Mail Boxes $250

They're only 15 inches deep, which would be perfect.

I can haz?

Friday Finds: Shadow Box

Before we begin today - check it out - 200 followers! Cheers all, I love you and it makes me feel very loved that 200 people like reading my ramblings enough to hit the follow button :)

While I was at Holly's I noticed a difference between our house - she has many, many pretty things - you know, stuff that really doesn't do much, but are just pretty.

I don't have things :( Most things in my house are useful,  and if they aren't, it's only that my husband thinks I'm selling them that they get to stay.

So for today's post, I give you many totally useless (well, kinda) but very pretty, things:

Fabulous 1920s Flapper powder wand $119.99 from crashnbrn53.etsy.com

Vintage Decanter Labels $79 Boneflowers.etsy.com

Vintage travel Vanity $40 aldetha.etsy.com

Vintage Baby Shoes $58 hatstoflats.etsy.com

I did get me some pretty things to put in my cabinet - you can see some of them in the background of my new listings: blythehopesvintage.etsy.com

And if you like these things - check out the treasury I made to accompany this post:

Friday Finds: Party time!

Okay, as some of you know, I'm off to Tennessee today to visit my dear dear friend HauteCountryVintage.

I'm so excited. If you'd like to read the background on the pair of us, the Storque did an article a little while back - you can find it here:

http://www.etsy.com/storque/handmade-life/etsy-love-stories-best-friends-who-have-never-met-7323/

All of which puts me in a party mood, and I was lucky enough to be sent a link to this amazing site:

http://eventsualitiesblog.com/miscellaneous/oh-for-the-love-of-gin-and-smoke/ which inspires my finds today.

Lekiah designed the most AMAZING MadMen themed table for a competition, and how fabulous would it be to create your own?

Thankfully, she didn't buy up all of Etsy's Mid Century Modern stuff - so here's the best of what's left :)

Ben Seibel Mikasa Hacienda Service for 6 $175 JBirdHome.etsy.com

(This would make a seriously cool center piece)

Vintage Lead Glass Bowl $25 MrsPsHome.etsy.com

I'll be checking in later with photos from my trip, right now I have to go finish packing!

Friday Finds: My Perfect Bedroom

So we've just been told that our landlord is selling up - so we're gonna have to make some decisions pretty sharpish. We desperately want to build a house over at the farm - but that's gonna take some saving. In the mean time, I've been dreaming about my perfect master bedroom....

(no one is allowed to buy this - I want it)

One day my dears.... One day.

Friday Finds: Fabulous Swim Suits

As the weather heats up, all I can think about is lounging by a pool somewhere - and what better way t do it than in one of these fabulous suits?

This beauty from Archiva is totally on my wish list - and sadly way out of my budget at $289 - but a girl can dream...

From the handmade corner, I adore this retro looking bikini - sadly I have nothing in the chest department - so I can't imagine it would look as good on me as on the model.

One that's been in my favorites for ages is this adorable 60s bikini - I love the print and that it's a reasonable size for tiny people like me:

My ultimate finds for the serious collector though are these:
